A new, exciting direction...

Those of you who have known me for some years, observed my earlier postings of my art, seen my past and present art websites, visited my exhibitions etc. have understood that my focus and skill set was and has been concentrated upon traditional, realism style genres. In particular landscapes and architectural subjects. For those new to me and my art style, history you will likely become more familiar with me, I imagine, and begin to see me primarily as a new and evolving abstract painter.

As always I remain a very curious person about many things.... such as life itself, people, psychology, the human mind and spirit, creation and the beautiful world of nature. I continue to find myself open to new ways of thinking and feeling about my world and how I want to interact and record visually such interaction and responses to it. Until recently I had been "mainly" interested in painting and capturing in my artwork the reality of life around me in realistic, easily identifiable details and a certain accuracy displayed of the painting subjects I choose. Although I don't seek, nor never have strived, to be a hyper-realist painter.

While I will continue somewhat to create future paintings of a realistic style, primarily pastel and acrylic, I plan now to embark in a new and serious direction in the genre and world of abstracts. So a high percentage of my future months and beyond will be time immersed in abstract exploration and painting efforts in this refreshingly different painting experience. I envision an exciting and developmental career growth in this new focus. Likely you will notice some elements, at times, of realism within my abstracts. Perhaps this will happen intentionally, or unexpectedly, but I would not be surprised at some type of hybrid painting results. This sort of hybrid would include a trace or two of identifiable, visually understood elements in my abstract paintings.

I would consider, as a catagory title, for my abstract paintings to become known as Abstract Expressionism. Also this summer I would appreciate your feedback to my abstract postings as I do value your opinions, feeling and reactions to my new abstract works. I welcome all comments, positive or negative, all is needed and hopefully constructive, useful to me.

I am looking forward to the process of refining and forming my personal style of painting in this interesting, expressive and emotional abstract world I have now entered. My ultimate wish for you as a viewer, client or art lover is that what I create for you will stimulate your mind, touch your spirit and heart, positively engage and captivate you in a unique and personal way.
